How long does switching take, and will I lose supply?
UW handles the switch. Energy goes live in two to five working days with no break in supply. For broadband, Ofcom's One Touch Switch rules mean your new provider arranges everything — you don't need to call your old one.

UW advises keeping your old energy Direct Debit in place until your final bill from the old supplier is paid. One Touch Switch has applied to all UK home broadband since 12 September 2024. UW offers up to £400 towards early termination fees; MoneySavingExpert says this applies when you switch at least three services.
